urwald

Josef, an enthusiastic German man we interviewed in the Redwoods National Park, uttered the word, "urwald", in response to the question: "What do you find interesting about this place?" The translation was a mystery to us until yesterday, when a friend from Germany described it. She thought it would be a good title for the film, and I agree with her, although it probably wont end up being the title.

This was her translation:

Urwald

its an untouched nature place, but not a lovely one, its some kind of cruel and a bit scary,.. there are storys about brave people who go to have an adventure there, because there aren't any humans, its just a place ruled by nature..
wald = forest
ur = something from times long ago
